Strategy Definition, Planning and Execution
“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” So said Sun Tzu many years back.
Our view is that strategy is fundamental to the very DNA of an organization, and yet needs to be rooted in achievable outcomes that allow the organization to prosper along the way. If your organization does not have a strategic goal to aim for, a compass bearing against which it can set every operational and tactical action, then success will be short lived.
At Corporate Analytics we will work with you to help you understand and define the best strategic direction and goals for your business. We will aim to help you work out your ‘niche’, your mantra, your mission; quite simply what you know you can be the very best at. We will then help you to test that rigorously and apply realism; and then align the whole organization so that you can accelerate towards it. This will include a wide range of both ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ aspects including goal planning, economic indicator setting, team selection and building, motivation assessment, operational and delivery planning, competitor analysis, exit planning, and more.
A critical element of strategy definition is to understand your long term and/or exit requirements and to assess the different options being considered. Although the ‘final’ exit option may not be clear it is important that serious thought and consideration is given to the longer term. As part of the strategic planning that we will undertake with you we will look at various strategies open to you and help assess the likely ones, weaving this ‘end point’ into the pig picture plan.
